PRESSO FONDERIE considers environmental protection, compliance with applicable environmental laws, pollution reduction, and the improvement of the company’s environmental performance as a cornerstone of its business strategy.

By adhering to EMAS Regulation (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) No. 761/2001, the company aims to:

• Assess its initial situation through a detailed analysis;
• Establish a policy and objectives to be pursued;
• Develop a program to achieve these objectives;
• Monitor the progress of the program;
• Prepare an environmental statement, which must be made available to the public.

Regarding air emissions, PRESSO FONDERIE boasts modern and efficient purification systems for vapors and fumes from melting furnaces and presses, as well as effective dust reduction systems for sandblasting and grinding processes. Since 2017, we have been operating a highly advanced monitoring system for our emissions, allowing continuous “live” control of all our chimneys.

Another critical aspect of die-casting operations is water consumption.

Water is used both for production processes and in the piping serving sanitary facilities and the cafeteria. The annual water consumption at PRESSO FONDERIE amounts to approximately 4,000 m³, divided between water drawn from a well (20%) and from the municipal supply (80%).

A significant portion of the water used in production is recovered daily through internal purification and cooling systems within the plant.

In terms of waste reduction and increased recycling, PRESSO FONDERIE has implemented both direct and indirect procedures.

Directly, the company has established an area dedicated to the separate collection of iron, paper, furnace dust, metal shavings from machining processes, as well as plastic and glass, and placed multiple bins throughout the plant, each designated for a specific type of waste.

Indirectly, the company acted by optimizing recycling practices through raising awareness among all employees, providing targeted training sessions to enhance their knowledge and understanding of proper waste management.

As an energy-intensive company, PRESSO FONDERIE adopts every possible measure to reduce the consumption of natural gas and electricity required for its processes.

Since September 29, 2016, our company has become increasingly GREEN thanks to the installation of a 300 kWp photovoltaic system, generating significant fuel savings through the use of renewable energy sources.

We have calculated that this system will reduce our emissions by:

• CO₂ (carbon dioxide): 188,591.84 kg per year – 3,466,112.03 kg over 20 years
• SO₂ (sulfur dioxide):61 kg per year – 6,498.96 kg over 20 years
• NOx (nitrogen oxides):53 kg per year – 4,053.11 kg over 20 years

As of June 30, 2025, we have produced over 2,800,000 kWh of “clean” energy… and we are proud of it!

At the beginning of 2020, a new energy conditioning machine (E POWER) was installed, allowing a reduction of over 4% in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

Transportation is also a source of pollution due to fossil fuel use. On this front, PRESSO FONDERIE has taken action in favor of the environment by carefully planning transport routes for company vehicles, optimizing trips to minimize fuel consumption.
